MAKE YOUR OWN HOPE

 The Alma Louise Foundation

Building a Community of Hope

The Alma Louise Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was founded on January 14th, 2018 to help patients with kidney disease find assistance with transplants. We also provide support groups for dialysis patients that demonstrate healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes as well as promote awareness of the disease and how it affects our community.

Kidney

Your kidneys perform important functions that affect every part of your body. Many other organs depend upon the kidneys to function normally. The kidneys perform complicated jobs that keep the rest of the body in balance. When the kidneys become damaged, your body’s other organs are affected as well.

Kindred

Dealing with Kidney Disease has lead to diverse relationships and support needs. ALF believes in the family dynamic, in making time for family members and friends, communicating effectively and supporting each other to strengthen relationships. We desire to interact with our community as a family, which is helpful in building strong and caring relationships.

Knowledge

Knowledge simply refers to the condition of knowing something. It is the information, facts, principles, skills and understanding, etc. that is acquired through education and experience. ALF encourages individuals to be knowledgeble of the warning signs of kidney disease.

Kingdom

ALF believes in living the values we have written down.” We all need reminders of the strongly-held shared beliefs that guide our behavior in the workplace. Creating organizational values is a key step in building a healthy culture.  “God has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8 (NIV)

From Despair to Victory, Make Your Own Hope!

During one of the most difficult time of her life, Alma Louise Ingraham was fighting to stay alive as she was waiting for a kidney transplant.  The odds seemed to be against her. Other underlying health issues created challenges that seemed too difficult to overcome, however, her resolve was inspiring and contagious.  She learned that the journey from despair to victory was made by making her own hope.  She cultivated this inner sense of perseverance by loving and serving others.

The Alma Louise Foundation encapsulates this fiery brand of hope by bottling up these amazing values and multiplying them into the hearts and minds of others. We challenge everyone to join us in this movement to spread love and kindness and build yourself up with the hope you need to overcome your own struggles.
